Lakshmi tells Raju that she has prepared his favourite meal. She further tells him that tomorrow will bring hope. She asks him to eat. Raju feels that he cannot stay in the house any longer. He tells Lakshmi that he will eat later. He decides to leave the dining table.

Raju enters his room. He decides to pack his belongings. A family member with a bandaged head enters. She asks Raju what he is doing. Raju tells her that he is leaving the house forever. The family member pleads with Raju to not leave. Raju tells her that he cannot bear the humiliation any longer. He folds his hands and tells her that he has no choice. The family member feels helpless.

Raju picks up his suitcase. He further picks up a framed family photograph. He walks towards the main gate. Lakshmi sees him. She cries out his name. She rushes into the courtyard. Srinivas watches the scene. The rest of the family stands shocked. Raju tells Lakshmi that he must go. Lakshmi pleads with Raju to stay. Raju feels torn between love and pain.

Lakshmi asks Srinivas to stop Raju. Srinivas remains silent. Lakshmi feels devastated. Raju tells Lakshmi that he loves her. He further tells her that he cannot stay where he is not respected. Raju continues walking towards the gate. Lakshmi collapses to the ground. Raju looks back. He feels shattered. He decides to keep walking.
