Zafar addresses the gathering today. He says that after Usman's death the city needs a new Mufti. He tells everyone that the position must be filled immediately. 

He further proposes Mahid's name for the role. He asks the people to accept his choice. The crowd listens silently.

Haider gets shocked. He asks Husna if she knew about this. She tells him that she had no idea. He gets upset. He warns her that this will change everything. She tells him to stay calm.

People begin raising slogans in Mahid's support. Husna watches Mahid. She feels that everyone is happy for him. She decides to pretend to be happy.

Mahid arrives at the venue. He thanks Zafar for the proposal. He tells the people that he will serve them. Zafar announces that Mahid is now the next Mufti. The crowd cheers loudly.

Husna claps along with them. She worries about Haider's reaction. She further tells Haider to accept the decision. He leaves without saying a word.
