Colors TV is coming up with something new again, and this time it's a show that is totally different from the usual TV stuff. It's called "108 Base Hospital – Uri" and its a military medical drama, set inside an army hospital. The show is made by Juggernaut Productions and it will air on weekends at 8 PM. And here's the big thing – this show is replacing Naagin 7. So you can guess how much the channel is expecting from this one.

What is the show about

If you like medical dramas and also army/military action, this show is made for you. Story is set in an army hospital where doctors treat wounded soldiers. There's tension, there's emotion, and yes there's a bit of love story mixed in too.

Cast of 108 Base Hospital Uri

The biggest highlight of this show is its cast. Erica Fernandes is playing Major Naina Sanyal, who is a trauma surgeon in the Indian Army. After a gap of 5 years this is Erica's comeback on TV, last she was seen in "Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi" back in 2021.

Opposite her, Gashmeer Mahajani plays Major Anirudh Jaiswal, who is also a trauma surgeon. Gashmeer is also returning to TV after "Lakshmi Niwas". Nikhil Khurana plays Major Sameer Dixit, an army officer, and people know him from "Jijaji Chhat Par Hai".

Hiten Tejwani is playing a Colonel doctor, who is head of department at the hospital, same place where Naina's character works. Interesting part is Hiten is doing this along with "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2" at the same time. Smita Bansal plays the senior dean of the army hospital. Also in the cast is Ayoshi Talukdar, while Arham Zaidi and Yashi Saxena play medical interns who work under Gashmeer and Erica's characters. Aliraza Namdar has an important role, and recently Pavneet Singh Bagga also joined the cast.

The story behind the show

The show is based on the 2016 Uri attack, where 19 soldiers lost their life, and after that India did the surgical strikes. Story is set in a military hospital, showing doctors treating injured soldiers. The focus is on army doctors – their pressure, their emotional struggle, everything.

There's a love triangle too. Naina and Anirudh have a past together, they were in relationship 10 years back, but Naina ended it because Anirudh didn't want her to join the army. Now Sameer is developing feelings for Naina, and this old unresolved history is going to create more drama between the three.

Seva, Saahas, Samarpan – the theme of the show

In the promo you'll see three words coming up again and again – Seva (service), Saahas (courage) and Samarpan (dedication). This is basically the soul of the show. Doctors or army men, both work under heavy pressure but stay committed to duty. The show mixes medical emergencies with personal relationships very nicely.

Promo and audience reaction

First promo of the show is already out. It shows a military convoy in Uri, then an explosion happens, and a voice says "emergency convoy with multiple injuries". That's where Major Naina Sanyal and other officers get introduced. High stakes action mixed with emotional storytelling, thats what the promo gives.

Reaction on social media has been good so far. Some people are saying it reminds them of the Korean drama "Descendants of the Sun", but makers are clear that their story is completely original. Erica and Gashmeer's chemistry is also getting a lot of attention from viewers.

Where is the shooting happening

Makers are shooting at real locations in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir. This is adding a proper realistic feel to the show. Shooting is currently going on.

Release date and episodes

Show is expected to come in August, and some reports say it might launch around August 15, Independence Day. Most interesting part – it is planned as a limited series, only 30 episodes. If this happens it can actually change how Indian TV works. No dragging storylines, no memory loss twist, no plastic surgery drama, just tight and crisp storytelling. It will air in the weekend slot, though exact date is not out yet.

Where to watch

108 Base Hospital – Uri will air on Colors TV, and for streaming you can watch it on JioHotstar.

What makes this show different

Medical dramas are rare on Indian TV anyway, and mixing it with a military background makes it even more fresh. Erica and Gashmeer in uniform are also looking quite sharp together. The show promises a good mix of action and emotion – a nice break from the usual saas-bahu dramas, kitchen politics and never ending love triangles.

The 30 episode format is also interesting. If this works out, other channels might also follow with shorter seasons and better quality content. This way audience also gets to see something new for a change.

Final word

108 Base Hospital – Uri has a good cast, a solid concept and good timing too. Military, medical drama, action, romance and patriotism – everything packed in one show. People are already waiting for it and the buzz around it is quite strong.

Colors TV is completing 18 years this year, and this show is being seen as their biggest launch. Channel wants to do something different this time, and maybe this is the show that brings that change.
