Lakshmi tells Raju that she will feed him with her own hands. She further tells him that the next day will bring peace and a fresh start. Raju feels that he cannot stay in the house any longer. He decides to leave quietly.

Raju enters his room. He decides to pack his belongings. Champa asks Raju if he is truly leaving. Raju tells Champa that he cannot bear the humiliation. He picks up his suitcase. He further picks up a framed family photograph. He walks towards the main gate with Champa.

Lakshmi sees Raju at the gate. She cries out his name. She asks Raju if he is truly leaving the house. The family gathers in the courtyard. They watch in stunned silence. Lakshmi pleads with Raju to not go.

Srinivas rushes to the gate. He asks Raju where he is going at this hour. He further asks Champa why they are leaving. Raju tells Srinivas that he cannot stay where he is not respected. Srinivas tells Raju to stop. He further tells everyone that if Raju leaves, the entire family will leave together. The family gets stunned. Lakshmi looks at Srinivas with hope.
